Enterprise Data Modeler and (Meta)Data Architect

Description

Mission 1 – Metadata Management Framework

• Lead, in compliance with the Client Metadata Paper, improvement of the metadata management framework and maturity at Client
• Contribute, in collaboration with the Data Engagement Manager, to communication and awareness activities around metadata management use cases, activities and tools (including demos and training sessions around the metadata management tool)
• Contribute, in collaboration with the Data Manager team, to establish governance processes around metadata to ensure an integrated definition of data for enterprise information, and to ensure the accuracy, validity, and reusability of metadata.
• Promote data modeling standardization; define and drives adoption of the standards
• Lead, in collaboration with the Architecture team, formalization, documentation and deployment of the Metadata Architecture

Mission 2 – Metadata and Reference Data Management Tool

• Ensure the Client metadata management tool provides the necessary capabilities to support implementation of data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities.
• Collaborate closely with other Data Office team members and key roles from the data governance organization (IT and Business) in order to gather requirements.
• Manage, in collaboration with the Data Manager team, the metadata management tool lifecycle, including backlog administration, maintenance of the user portal, publication of release notes, animation of the community of users, etc.
• Lead the detailed design and testing activities of changes, including a close collaboration with the developer team.

Mission 3 – Enterprise Data Modeling & Design

• Develop business and technical understanding of various source systems for integration in conceptual and logical data model.
• Develop solid understanding of the various source data sets and assist in laying out the overall data design solutions.
• Ensure all critical data elements identified by Data Managers are integrated into the Enterprise Data Model
• Support Data Managers in their data modeling & design activities, in particular to tackle the most complex data modeling topics
• Manage harmonization of cross departmental concepts

Profile description

• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Lead Client metadata management maturity improvement;
• Lead enterprise data modeling and design topics, including the management of the Enterprise Data Model (EDM) as a product;
• Manage Reference Data Management (RDM) tooling;
• Contribute to data architecture topics
• Experience creating conceptual, logical and physical design documents as well as detailed design documents.
• Experience using any type of metadata management tool (such as Oracle Enterprise Metadata Management – OEMM, Talend Metadata Manager – TMM, Informatica Metadata Manager – IMM, Collibra, etc.).
• Experience animating agile methodologies and using any type of agile methodology tool (such as Visual Studio Team System / Microsoft Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.).
• Excellent understanding of and experience creating business reference models and data reference models in alignment with Enterprise Architecture (EA).
• Experience in the review of various data life cycle artifacts (such as Data Dictionary, Data Flow Diagram, Data Quality Plans, etc.).
• Experience in the creation of data management plans, data migration plans and the upkeep of system data dictionaries.
• Experience with the TIBCO EBX (formerly Orchestra EBX) tool would be a plus
• Experience in MDM deployments would be a plus

Skills

• Good knowledge of data governance concepts, methodologies and processes.
• Demonstrates the ability to concisely express solutions/ideas verbally or via written text and diagrams (e.g. UML or other)
• Knowledge of the insurance/assistance industry would be a plus.
• Knowledge of the ACORD Information Model would be a plus.

• Experience with cloud technologies and architecture would be a plus.
• Familiar with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Azure product offerings, how these offerings are used in cloud solutions, as well as the security, risk and development ramifications of deploying to the Microsoft Azure cloud would be a plus. Experience in design of Big Data Environments which utilize technologies such as distributed processing (for example Hadoop), non-relational and/or unstructured data stores.

• Knowledge of the Data Vault 2.0 framework would be a plus.

• Ability to communicate effectively with an executive audience, and clearly communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm for research and finding answers to difficult questions.
